Ⅰ) Classification of LED heat sink modules

LED heat sink modules can be divided into extruded heat sink modules, forged heat sink modules and Zipfin+ heat pipe cooling modules according to different products.

1) Extruded heat sink

Extruded heat sinks are divided into sunflowers and ordinary cuboids and other special-shaped heatsinks. The common material of extruded heatsinks is AL6063-T5, and the thermal conductivity is 209W/m-K. The shape of the sunflower heatsinks is circular. Mainly used for circular LED lamps and lanterns, and rectangular heat sinks are generally used in street lamps, cabinets and other industrial products. The heat sink using this type of extrusion die has high productivity and mature technology. The commonly used processing technology is cutting and cutting - CNC machining tapping - manual trimming - surface grinding and finishing - surface treatment: degreasing, anode, etc. - assembled goods.


2) Forged heat sink
The common material for forged heat sinks is AL1070, and the thermal conductivity is 236W/m-k. Usually, cold forging can be used when the blade teeth and the shape are round. The cold forging method can be formed at one time, which will reduce material waste, but cold forging The cost of the forging die is relatively high and has certain limitations on the product.


3) Zipfin+ heat pipe cooling module
Zipfin needs to open a continuous stamping die, and manually insert the heat pipe into the fin sheet for soldering. This process has a high die cost and is suitable for mass-produced products. It is not suitable for products with small quantities, and the development cost is high.

Ⅱ) Material of LED heat sink module
1) The thermal conductivity of aluminum heat sinks is lower than that of copper among metals, but aluminum is cheap and light in weight. The density of aluminum is 2.74g/cm, which is suitable for mass industrial production.
2) The thermal conductivity of copper heat sinks is second only to gold and silver among metals, ranking third. It is a very good thermal conductivity material, but the density is 8.97 g/cm, which is 3.3 times that of aluminum, and the price is relatively expensive. It is suitable for forced convection heat dissipation scenarios with high power density.
